Program Manager

Oversees the daily operations of BNIA. Manages economic development, survey-based, workforce development, and Geographic Information Systems research.
BNIA specializes in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of demographic, social, and economic indicators for Baltimore City. BNIA is an affiliate of the Urban Institute's National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership (NNIP) of which there are currently 30 member cities nationally. We are a leading source in Baltimore City for current, economic and other data and analyses used for policy decisions and planning. Our portfolio of research includes studies of economic and workforce development, program evaluation, governmental policy decisions, and how regional trends affect Baltimore City and vice versa. BNIA is known for producing Vital Signs, a publication that tracks the vitality of Baltimore City's neighborhoods in over 40 indicators ranging from education, to crime, to housing. BNIA-JFI provides accurate, reliable, accessible and actionable data and indicators that describe social, economic and quality of life issues impacting Baltimore City and its neighborhoods.
Mr. Kachura received his Master's in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore, and his Bachelor's in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park. Some of his recent projects include: Dashboard Report: Analysis and Metrics of the African American Middle Class in Baltimore City; the 2007 Greater Baltimore State of the Region Report; 2007 State of the Downtown Report; Caroline Center Workforce Training Program Survey; Healthy Start of Baltimore City, Inc. Community Needs Assessment; Baltimore City Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS); and the Baltimore City Clean Green Initiative. Mr. Kachura serves on several of the Mayor's commissions and is chair of the NNIP Economic Development workgroup.
